So I embarked this past week on keeping you all updated with my food choices and meal plan. This great idea for a blog was inspired by a few friends of mine. As you can tell, I made it to Monday keeping this blog up to date before I got behind. It has been a busy week and trying to stay on top of working full time, family time, and blogging..well I did my best. There is good news though, as promised, I've put it all in a spreadsheet here! I'm going to try tonight to also link hyperlinks to most of the recipes.
Remember, my grocery bill was roughly $86.00 this week (I did have some of the ingredients already in the cupboard, but then again, I did also buy some things not on the list)! Eating real live, healthy food, doesn't have to be expensive or time consuming!
I am learning more and more about Doshas in Ayurvedic Medicine. Each Dosha represents a season per say, which may explain why when it gets cold....we have cravings for comfort foods- rich, fatty, heavy! So, I decided to listen to my body and not to fight it... Foods moved from cold and raw to warm and cooked (I tried to keep everything as low as I could temperature wise, because cooking at high temps damages enzymes).
You can reference the chart below for each recipe and I will work hard to get them up on the blog ASAP! Enjoy and I hope this helps you in your meal planning.
A couple of thoughts to remember to make it easy:
1. Utilize left overs (but eat them within a couple of days)
2. Keep it simple, if you want to play in the kitchen- save more time consuming recipes (ie..liver pie) for the weekends
3. Freeze what you don't use to pull out later
4. Prep ahead of time
5. And ...when juicing (although I didn't put it in here), peel fruits, save the pith and mix with coconut flour, egg or egg substitute and have veggies burgers later in the day!
